interested in working on and I will provide individual instruction and

Young Artists Workshops at the Artisan Exchange.
4 sessions beginning on April 20 - May 11. Saturdays 12 - 2pm. $100
for the whole session - includes supplies.
Working on a variety of mediums, young artists will learn about the
history and cultural importance of the art projects, while working in
a fun atmosphere of creative freedom. Held in the beautiful new location
on Broad St. in Milford, the classes are held in the second floor class
studios of this wonderful shop which carries the wares of regional artists

Below you will find a description of the classes I teach. Class schedules
and locations will be posted above as they become available.
Good draftmanship provides the artist with the solid understanding
and foundation on which to build and grow into other mediums. The simplicity
and versatility of drawing make it the perfect medium for learning the
basic artistic concepts of composition, spatial relationships, modeling
form and understanding light and shadow. Using charcoal and graphite
we employ several techniques to encourage personal style. All levels
welcome. 6 week session
This class is designed to provide a basic foundation with which the
student can explore this rich and versatile medium. Individual style
is encouraged as well as the proper use of materials and understanding
various techniques. Create a painting in stages with an emphasis on
a strong value study and underpainting.. Learn color mixing with a limited
palette. All levels welcome; drawing experience strongly suggested.
6 week sessions.
The missing link in many artists education, color choices are often
left to guessing and luck. To really know color and understand its dynamic
relationships and interaction, is to harness the most universally recognized
and powerful elements of art. We will learn the basic principles of
color, how to mix all colors with the three primary palette and how
to make any color you see. 6 week session.
This 3 session workshop is a must for all artist at any level. an exploration
into the various stages that evolve ideas; inspiration being only one.
By understanding these stages the artist is able to nurture the process
as well as avoid 'ruts' and negative feelings that can squash creativity.
Fun and simple drawing exercises will teach how to promote ideas and
get the creative wheels turning.
