About Me

I consider my location as a character with which I have a relationship, discovering its unique qualities that inspire my paintings. The Pocono’s landscape and history have been my muse for over a decade. With exciting subject matter such as the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and Delaware River, the numerous waterfalls, rugged and rocky forested surroundings satisfy my love of the landscape. Gifford Pinchot, Grey Towers and the US Forest Service here in Milford Pennsylvania and it’s interesting cast of characters provide historical subject matter to explore and relate through my paintings. After having studied at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, I returned to the Northeast and the geography I feel a kinship with. A co-owner of a gallery in New York State for over 10 years, I then moved to Pennsylvania and became a partner in the arts and crafts cooperative, ARTery Gallery in Milford, where my paintings are always on exhibit. As the Resident Artist for the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area for the 2015/16 seasons, I produced paintings of the national park and researched its artistic history, resulting in ongoing presentations at historical locations and societies throughout the region. Writing articles for the Pocono Living magazine, I am able to further my knowledge of the region and share what I find interesting about the Poconos.
